The disease of mesothelioma is very dangerous. This is a very rare type of cancer. Normally, in this disease of cancer the harmful cells are generally found in a sac that is lining the abdomen part or the chest. The particles of asbestos result in this kind of cancer, when they inhaled by a person and have the tendency to increase the rate of risk that develops the malignant mesothelioma.
The mesothelioma diagnosis is quite difficult. The mesothelioma cancer has the signs or symptoms are actually similar to the symptoms of the other normal disease. The mesothelioma doctor begins the diagnosis by having a normal review on the medical history of the person. If the person’s medical history shows the signs that the person is being exposed to asbestos, then it may give the doctor a reason to suspect the patient with mesothelioma.
Then procedure further moves on with the physical examination that is conducted by the doctor to detect the disease in its exact nature and position. This physical examination includes the different steps that are followed by x-ray of chest, functional test of the lungs.
This procedure of x-ray further shows the state of the pleural that is thickened now. Other procedures like CAT scan and MRI are also helpful in the detection of the disease. Now with the help of cytology the detection of abnormal cells is done through the observation of the fluid that is there only in the affected area of the body.
